And then my Big Man today playing his first official soccer game!!!

We came home from soccer and took some naps, Meaghan went to a birthday party and then Mike, Alex, Katie and I went to church. After church, we picked up Meaghan and went to Pizza King after some convincing of Daddy to do so, in celebration of Alex and Katie's birthdays (Katie's is Monday) So we enjoyed a good meal together, having fun as a family and will have Alex's party with close friends and family tomorrow afternoon. :)

Finally- InDBA obtains it's Non Profit Status!!!!

Alright, we finally did it!!!! Oh man, such a relief and such a good thing. :) I was soooooo happy to open that letter today saying that InDBA is a non profit organization!!! :D

HUGE thanks to Heidi, Suzi, and all the people that heard me out as I drilled them about going through the process in thier orgs as well, and most of all Thanks to Kim and Sheila, our pro bono attorneys at COLAP that made it all happen! We couldn't have done this without you!

So we now have our work cut out for us, but this is MAJOR accomplishment and hurdle overcome! :D

A few more pages done...

Ok, for the few times I was coherent and able to sit up I did sit with the laptop and get a few more pages done....

Doing better...

Yesterday went pretty good. I didn't have to nap all day as I did most of the weekend! LOL! I was feeling a little better, though the cough is still pretty bad.

We made it through the day- Alex went to his first day of preschool, which he came home quite tired and very happy. He definately had a good day and enjoyed it, as he came home yelling at the top of his lungs what he'd done all day. He'd colored, read books, sang songs and had Marshmellows for snack and "THEY WERE REALLY GOOD!!!!" LOL! I asked him if he wanted to go back tomorrow and got an even louder and emphatic "YEAH!!!!!"

So Mike got home with Alex last night and we had the ice cream social and meet n greet with Katie's new teacher. We ran into a couple of people we knew and Mike stopped to chat with a couple of the other teachers since he's coaching thier kids in soccer. LOL! We left there and went up to the soccer fields to pick up the team uniforms that were in, and from there we stopped and got gas in the van. Whoo hoo! 3.69 a gallon! Gosh, I remmy as a kid when it was 29 CENTS a gallon. But won't rant on that...

So we head back and around to the post office and I went in and mailed off Honey's harness back to the school. I guess I'd kinda not gotten in any hurry to do that, as it was the final thing of making it all real. *sigh* I'm ok with it, but I am missing her. Even though I was sick, I woke up Sunday morning and was thinking of how I missed her good morning "hugs" each morning. She would wake up and would jump up onto my side of the bed with her front paws and nuzzle me, putting her head on my chest and I'd rub her ears and love on her each morning before we got up and moving. Didn't realize how much I missed doing that.

I did hear from Dan though, as Honey is apparently living life to the fullest and being the smart stinker that she is. :) Here's what he wrote....

Two or three days ago, I had just fed the dogs. ( they all eat together, side by side and I always watch over them ) They had all eaten well, but the pup left a small amount in her bowl. I put the bowl on top of the dishwasher and walked away. Just as I walked back into the kitchen, Honey was up and lifting the small bowl neatly off the dishwasher and finished what was in it. I scoulded her somewhat but actually thought the whole thing was pretty cool.

Tonight ( Sunday ) I did the same thing with the pups bowl, forgetting what Honey had done. About five minutes later , I looked out the back door and saw the bowl in the yard. It was gone off the dishwasher. Honey had done the same thing again, but took it outside this time. From now on, I'll have to make sure I place things out of her reach. The weird thing is, I never heard a thing. She didn't make a sound. Scary, HUH ?

I didn't say a word to her.

Pretty funny! Sounds like the Honey I know! LOL! Those dogs are so smart they sure know how to use it! LOL!

So anyway, sent off her harness and then we took off to the next town over to get the kids haircuts since they were all needing them badly. Got that done and gosh, there's actually little kids under all that hair! :D

Then we came on home and ate some dinner. Mike gathered up the stuff to go over to Dad and Sue's to work on thier computers and I got the kids moving in the direction for bed, since they had all three been up early and were definately showing thier bearish sides by 7pm. So they all made thier way to bed early and I was able to work on some stuff here on the puter.

Sick weekend. :(

Yeah, the title pretty much says it all... Meaghan was stuffy, Alex was coughing, runny nosed, grumpy and I was down and out almost the entire weekend too. I am still coughing, a little stuffed up, and man I had some serious body aches all weekend. I'd feel better for a bit and then my face would feel flushed and I'd feel like crap. Mike was awesome and took care of the kids and meals all weekend, as I was pretty much either on the couch or in bed zonked out or lethargic. ugh!

Thankfully we didn't have any big plans for the weekend though Saturday morning Mike woke me up about a half hr before the school tour for Katie's new school and I made the walk over there and through the school all taking about an hour and a half, though by the time we were headed home, I was definately thinking it hadn't been such a good idea to go on my pary. We saw the school and I have to share a foolish moment here. They've set up the school in a square layout with a courtyard in the middle. Efficiently, they have made that courtyard the Kindergarten only playground- VERY NICE! So we were at a point where we could look out some windows and see the playground and Meaghan had insisted on holding my hand through all of this. She was on my left side and I was navigating through the group and such with my cane in my right hand. So we are looking out the windows and ready to move on, without even thinking, I blurt out" " Honey, Left!" As soon as it came out of my mouth I felt quite like a fool and one time of this weekend my face wasn't flushed from fever. Mike hadn't heard me and I don't think anyone else did either, but I still felt quite like an idiot for commanding my dog that wasn't at my side. LOL!

So we make it back home and I took some more medicine and headed back to bed, of which I slept for quite a while. Quite honestly, Most of Saturday and Sunday morning is quite a blur to me, bien in and out of it so much. Then Saturday night it hit me all of a sudden that I had my Disabilities Support Group that morning at church! DOH!!!!! In my incoherent state, I completely forgot it and Mike being tied up with the kids completely forgot it too. So I have some people to contact and sincerely apoligize to... :(

Sunday we got up and ate breakfast and drank some gatorade for the pounding headache I had and my meds kicked in, which made me droggy, so went back to bed and wound up getting up about 1pm. I was feeling a lot better, so tried to get up and so a little bit, which I lasted a couple of hours and then hit bottom again, so laid out on the couch for a bit until it passed. Then it wasn't too long until Mike made dinner and it was time for him to head to Bible study. I was feeling decent, so I got the kids in the tub while I was feeling ok and got them bathed and ready for bed. Then got them all down and paid bills last night and got some other paperwork done that was needing taken care of, along with answering some emails for InDBA and such.

This morning we are up and Alex is pretty much on the mend so Mike took him for his first day of preschool. Mike said he did really well this morning, getting right up and getting dressed. He did say he was a little confused though when they got there because 1. he took him to the church- which is where preschool is, and 2. His classroom is actually the same room that his Sunday school class is, since the Children's ministry uses the preschool's rooms on the weekend. I think with all the talk of Katie's new school and such, he probably thought he'd be going there and not realizing that "school" was at the church for him. Guessing he's going to have a blast though and can't wait to see him tonight to hear all about it.

The girls were up not too long after Mike and Alex left, and got thier own breakfast. I'm up and once past the coughing fits, not too bad. I need to go get some more meds though and I'm starting to feel a little icky. Hoping with some more rest today, I'll be able to keep up with the busy week we have this week-

Tonight is the ice cream social at the school with the teachers and hey- free ice cream. !
I was for skipping it, but Mike wants to try to go to meet Katie's teacher when there's not as likely to be as many kids/parents there. We are going to try to meet Katie's teacher tonight so it's a little easier for me to navigate with my cane and hear.

Tuesday night is the req'd orientation night, that everyone is supposed to come to at 6pm. We'll just do the orientation, drop off all of Katie's supplies and fly the coop hopefully.

Wednesday is soccer practices

Thursday Mike has Big Fish- men's ministry dinner- STEAK dinner, for Mike and hopefully Dad too.

Friday- Mike works 2nd shift,

Saturday is our first soccer games and Meaghan has a birthday party to go to in the afternoon and we have church.

Sunday we'll have Alex's birthday party at 2pm with some close friends if they are available to come.

Well, I'm going to sign off here and go get some more meds to feel better!
Toodles....

Interesting dream last night...

I had a dream about a dog last night. It was kind of weird. Mike D, the trainer I'd worked with at GDF brought me a dog out, this golden dog, a goldador, but looks almost like a doberman that it's sleek and slender. He told me the name, but I can't remember it now. He had me walking around this oval with the dog, there was something in the center, I don't remember what, some sort of object we had to walk around and I kept calling the dog Honey, saying thw wrong name, like I do with the kids sometimes. You know when you try to say the kids name and you blurt out the wrong one you are in such a hurry?

So I kept messing up with the dog, not staying in place, footing, and all, and getting frustrated with myself because the dog was doing fine. Mike D had to talk with one of the other trainers and comes back and it's like the dog and I were siting on that something in the middle of the oval, he was leaning against whatever we were sitting on and He's telling me that he thought this would be the best match, but he had two other choices too, one being Maverick and another being Leo? I think was the name. It's real vague, as Meaghan was waking me up. Not sure what all that means, other than I'm probably nervous about calling the dog Honey. !

Thursday

Today was cloudy, threatening to ran most of the day, and golly, it was nasty weather and nasty moods all around most of the day in the Weldy household... Alex was really grumpy and woke up really stuffed up, Katie was just crabby, which she tends to be when she's tired from the workout at practice, and I was fed up with dealing with the temper tantrums, melt downs, and fits by lunch time. They both came very close to not eating lunch, and then Mom lost her temper and the kids realized ok, time to knock it off or naps are coming my way.

Most of the morning though, we hung out in the living room on our big comfy couch and the kids watched some discovery kids and I worked on some more scrapping pages from Disney and such. Enjoy!

Well, Mike and I got to bed at 10:30 last night and actually got a good night of sleep... Mike crashed out tonight, when we put the kids to bed, so I just let him sleep. He'd been saying he's really tired, and he's actually really stressed right now about various things. So he can use it and I was able to catch up here and get some pictures off the camera and uploaded. However, I'm really starting to drag now though, so thinking I'm going to go for some shut eye and make it a record two nights in a row for me! LOL!

It's almost Friday!

Wow, this week has flown by...

Tuesday night, Mike came home and we went to the Great Banquet gathering. I'll admit, it's been kind of a rough week for me, being the first week and first times out and about without Honey. I'm truly lost without her and feel like I'm fumbling around, re-learning/adjusting to use the cane and so forth. Wondering how the france I ever did this all the time before, because it really just flat out sucks... but I say this while keeping my chin up, as I know at some point the phone will ring and it'll be GDF on the other end saying they've got a dog for me. :) So it's just a matter of being patient. Not one of my best virtues though....

So while we were at the gathering, I had a lot of people come up and say they were praying for us and that they'd gotten the email that I'd sent out asking for prayers to the community. It was hard to hold back the tears as people asked and were afraid to ask, knowing that it is still a fresh thing. I've also had a couple of people ask me if I was sick... I hope I don't look that bad! LOL!

So then yesterday, I got a call from Anne Marie, asking about getting together with the kids. We did and the kids had a blast, playing all afternoon together after we ate lunch. It was really nice to talk with Anne Marie and having someone to entertain my kiddos, who are desperately ready for school, that's for sure! They took off about 4pm and then Mike was home very shortly after that, which we rushed about and got soccer gear on for practice. Mike took off with the kids and I finished up a couple of things here and went over to Dad & Sue's and worked on the treadmill for 1o minutes, actually running for several minutes instead of the usual walking. Dad then ran me to the park, and we got there at the tail end of the U4's practice, but just in time for me to keep an eye on Meaghan and Alex while Mike ran the U8's practice.

Mike had his hands full though, as both his assistants were unable to attend, but he pulled it off well. :)

I do want to share the pictures of Alex being silly though, from Tuesday...

Then here are some pictures from soccer practice:

Meaghan playing with a teammates baby sister~

Meaghan, Alex, & I were at the swings.

Katie going after it again...

Most of the team: The Green Stars

Alex mad at me after I told him to get out of the sand volleyball court, but knew better to come when I started counting down...

Meaghan and I were kicking the ball back and forth, and she was actually doing pretty well, kind of getting into it. We'll see if I work with her some while she's home with me during the day- if she'll get into it more, but so far it's been hit and miss, depending on the mood she is in at the moment she plays! LOL!

Speaking of which, Alex starts preschool on Monday!!! Woot Woot! Isn't that horrible of me to say?! He's just in that "fun" stage where he's just wild and into everything. So yeah, I'm ready for him to go to preschool and burn off some of the energy and expand. We are pulling Meaghan out and putting him in. I'm also looking forward to having some time alone with Meaghan, since I really haven't too much. I know she'll enjoy it and hoping we can work on some reading skills and soccer too. :)

Made some changes to the veiw!

Evening all!

After months of being irritated at my pictures being cut off, I drafted the help of a friend to work on my blog template, so pictures are no longer cut off, font sizes a little bigger and so forth. Luckily it turned out to be quite an easy and quick fix~ Yay!!! Thanks Erynn!

Let me know if there's anything that seriously makes it hard to read, and I can possibly tweek it.

Yeah, the color scheme is a little weird, but it's easily read. ;)

Enjoy!

Been busy digi scrapping...

I have a few more pages to go yet, but I've been busy working on these pages...
